PARENT AND CHILD RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
The children’s church and pastoral department took hands in organizing an opportunity to strengthen relationship between parent and child.
A delightful Saturday afternoon was well spent as 18 teams of parents teamed up with their children to prepare carrot cupcakes and quiches. This was accomplished under the efficient leadership of Liza Kriel from Cornerstone in Drostdy’s kitchen.
- Dads astonished themselves by their own achievements
- Children felt empowered and proud of accomplishing the tasks
- Some children even found boldness to ask for help from the instructor
- Boys and dads enjoyed tasting and make sure the product was on track
- Wives gave husbands credit to being more capable than they would imagine
- Mothers experienced how much they had to let go and not tend to take over
After the baking session, we had a lovely time eating together at the table, while Carica le Grange, from Tableway, spoke to us about the importance of eating together at a table as a family, referring to Biblical truths and revelations about eating at the table and Jesus being the Bread of Life.
This was a blessed day together indeed.
